Nutrition...Simplified.
Are you feeling inspired but don't know where to start? OrĀ confused by the amount of information out there?
Nutrition doesn't need to be as complicated and overwhelming as it is made out to be.
Start small and focus on building sustainable habits... I explain, step-by-step, the food habits that you can start to incorporate into your daily routine with my Low-Carb Program.
I want clarity! Are you up to date on what is healthy?
Nutrition is a constantly evolving science so I completely understand how overwhelming it can be. Every week, a new study comes out and contradicts what you read last week, right?
Unfortunately, there's a lot of incorrect information circulating that doesn't stem from updated science.
Are you still choosing margarine over butter? Afraid of dietary fat because you think it'll make you fat? Choosing whole grains because you think it's a healthy choice of fibre? Solely taking a calories in vs. calories out approach to losing weight?
These are all outdated approaches to nutrition and are actually detrimental to our health. Updated science is telling us:
- Margarine is high in trans fat, which is linked to heart disease.
- Our bodies NEED fat to function optimally. I'm not talking about fried food, shortening and packaged goods. Our body needs healthy sources of fats like avocados, nuts and extra virgin olive oil.
- That sandwich you have every day is actually leading to higher insulin levels, which signal our body to store food as fat (often belly fat).
- Our bodies are too complex to rely on counting calories as a sole method to weight loss. Not all calories are created equally and different foods cause different responses in our bodies.
If you can relate to these beliefs, you're not alone. How is someone who is untrained in nutrition supposed to decipher what is true and what isn't? I've done the leg work for you. I understand the science. I've put it into practice in my own routine AND I've helped thousands of my patients transform their health by teaching them about the importance of what they put into their bodies.
I'm ready for change!Benefits of a low carb lifestyle
Mental Clarity
If you are having a hard time thinking clearly or have trouble focusing, highly processed carbohydrates are often the culprit. They cause our blood sugar levels to spike and crash, often leaving us in a 'brain fog'.
Reducing these carbohydrates can bring mental clarity and improved quality of life.
Loss of Stubborn Belly Fat
Refined carbohydrates lead to higher insulin levels. Higher insulin levels signal the body to store fat, especially around the belly (visceral fat). This is a dangerous area to have excess belly fat as it can lead to metabolic syndrome.
Knowing the appropriate breakdown of macronutrients can help stabilize your blood sugar levels and put you on the right track for losing stubborn belly fat.
Less Inflammation
Stiff and achy joints? That's not a 'normal' part of aging! It often comes back to inflammation and chronic inflammatory diseases are the #1 threat to human health according to the WHO.
What we eat plays a large role in inflammation. Unfortunately, the Standard North American Diet is filled with foods that are highly inflammatory.
By reducing these foods from our diet, we can improve our quality of life and lower our risk of developing inflammatory diseases like heart disease, diabetes, cancer and arthritis.
What will you learn?
- How to properly set goals and discover your why (you'll really dig deep to better understand what's important to you!)
- How the foods we eat affect the glycemic index and why it's important we reduce variability in our blood sugar levels
- How to properly read nutritional fact labels (no, calories aren't the most important factor!)
- What are macronutrients and how to balance the appropriate amounts of protein, fat and carbs
- The different types of fasts and how many of my patients find it the biggest game changer in their health
- Foods to avoid/reduce and foods to eat more of
- Supplements & vitamins to consider (we can't always get the essentials, or enough of them, through our diet)
- And so much more!
Hi! It's nice to meet you...
I'm Dr. Jason Plotsky and I've been helping people achieve their health goals since 2003.
I learned early in my chiropractic practice that our bodies are complex and how optimal health comes from addressing root causes instead of treating symptoms.
As a practicing chiropractor, wellness retreat and workshop facilitator, high performance coach and corporate speaker, I love teaching people how their bodies work and how to keep them healthy. It's empowering to know how much we can do to improve our own health.
I am a father of three young boys, a business owner and a hockey/baseball coach so I understand how hectic life can be. Our health doesn't need to be as time consuming nor as complicated as it is made out to be... it just comes back to establishing small, simple habits and doing them consistently. As a Certified High Performance Coach, I'm here to help you identify those habits along the way!
What they are saying...
Low carb intake was HUGE for me, I didn’t realize how bad it all really was. I think in the back of my mind I had an idea but now it’s a reality for me. I started with your grocery shopping list and ran with it.
I am now making foods I have never made before and never even thought of making, Keto Biscuits? Who knew, lol. I am actually enjoying looking for recipes and ideas for meals.

I was finally done with being tired, in pain everyday and being overweight and just not happy.
So thank heavens you came into my life to redirect my focus and teach me how I can finally after all these years get back to an activity level where I can both mentally and physically be part of.
